Older can be better,

Still have you by the tail

There may be rust,

But I'm still as hard as nails.

Still have my chassis,

Still have my wheels.

My blend of age and experience,

Ideal.

Not as originally intended,

Perhaps better,

Amended.

Last Light

Life can be difficult, often bleak and dreary.

Occasionally I'm low, occasionally I'm weary.

I sometimes feel trapped, mired in life's complexity.

A walk to the water, relief, my personal amnesty.

For it's in nature I find relief.

By the water, consolation.

A renewed sense of belief.

Shed of isolation.

I meld with the water, the animals, the breeze.

For it is being one with nature, that truly frees.

Sailing Weather

Set your compass in a better direction,

Usher in the weekend's resurrection.

Bear away and head for Block,

Five hours ahead of us, before we dock.

Water under keel, spray off the bow,

Feel the anticipation, it's the weekend now.

Lashed rail to rail, the boats are tied.

Time to assemble this landing party, time to enjoy the ride!

How do you judge it all?

Is greatness the ability to infiltrate?

To subjugate?

To relegate?

Or is greatness to ability to sustain, maintain? 

To live within one's domain? 

We scour the Earth, living my unsustainable means. 

We poison our own water, make it difficult to breathe. 

In the matter of all things great and small,

Despite our great achievements,

We still remain quite small.

Of Danger And Grace

Beauty can sooth, beauty can inflict.

It's affect upon you, impossible to predict.

It fills your senses, it floods your mind.

For the truly fortunate, beauty is kind.

Once afflicted by beauty, you will never forget.     

Be it fragile or ferocious, blonde or brunette.
